Bucktown Apple Pie
Sunday, October 13th, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM CDT

Join us for our annual Bucktown tradition by participating in the apple pie contest. Bake 2 identical apple pies. You will select one to be graded by our esteemed panel of judges. The pie can be any style, but it must be apple! This year we had added a whip cream pie eating contest for kids 12 and under. $5.00 fee for the whipped cream pie eating contest. Pie drop off is between 2:00-2:15 pm. at Leavitt Street. If you need to drop off earlier, please contact friendsofholsteinpark@gmail.com. Pie sales begin at 3:00 p.m. Whip cream pie eating contest will be held at 4:00 p.m. Winners will be announced at 5:00 p.m. Pie sales end at 6:00 p.m. We also will have a pumpkin painting/sticker station for the kids. We look forward to seeing you at the event. Day of sales: Pie slices are $5.00. Ice Cream is $1.00. Whip cream is $1.00

Despite the wind gusts, we had a blast (pun intended). Thank you to Sarah and Teddy at Leavitt Street Tavern for being such gracious hosts as always. We appreciate all of the volunteers . Thank you to our judges for taking their jobs seriously. As for the bakers, here are the winners:

For the Bakers:
Few reminders:
1. Please bake 2 identical apple pies. You can select which pie will be judged.
2. Please be prompt with dropping off your pies at Leavitt Street between 2-2:15p.m. If you need to drop off outside of that window, please email friendsofholsteinpark@gmail.com
3. Please name your pie - Examples from last year - Love it or Leavitt, Dad's Apple Pie. If you email me your pie's name in advance of Sunday, I will print out a label for your pie. If you want to make your own signage for the pie, feel free.
4. We'll plan to announce the TOP FIVE Pies at 5pm.
